Description
The Family Partner is an on-site position working under the supervision of the Clinical Director to provide structured, strength-based interventions to parents and caregivers of youth who have emotional, behavioral or mental health challenges. The Family Partner is a self-identified caregiver that has raised, or is currently raising, a youth with emotional, behavioral or mental health challenges and who has successfully navigated the youth serving systems to access treatment and resources necessary to build resiliency and foster success in the home, school and community. This is a requirement of the position.
1. Educating and empowering parents and caregivers about how to effectively navigate the child-serving systems for themselves and about the existence of informal/community resources available to them. Connecting caregivers to community services and resources available in the community that can assist with meeting family needs or reducing parental stress.
2. Participating in critical committees (ex. client rights, quality improvement) to provide family perspective on policies and procedures.
3. Attending Child Family Teams and treatment teams with caregivers. Assist in preparing and debriefing families for these meetings. Support caregivers in bringing additional supports from their family or community to the CFT and treatment team meeting.
4. Assisting families in addressing barriers (ex. transportation) to spending time with their child in the facility or their child spending time at home
5. Coaching the caregiver on effective strategies to explain their needs and preferences and to advocate for their child’s needs.
6. Teaching coping and problem solving skills, supporting families in using crisis/safety plan and the skills within that plan.
7. Ensures the provision of quality services to clients, and their parent/guardians; as well as to other professionals by participation in the agency’s Continuous Quality Improvement Process.
8. Adheres to agency policies regarding confidentiality of student information.
9. Generates all official school transcripts, including documentation of admissions and withdrawals.
10. Displays competence and responsiveness to cultural differences present in both customer and employee population by demonstrating the Eliada Model Core Values of Faith, Hope and Love, Teamwork, Integrity and Excellence.

Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an accredited university preferred and one year of experience working with the target population.
2. Must have a valid driver’s license, available to work evenings and weekends, computer skills and the ability to accurately display typing and data entry competence.
